It Has Happened! New York’s SAFE Act Nabs its First Criminal!

Well, the title of this post should be more like ‘New York’s new Communist law put in place by its Constitution hating Governor Andrew Cuomo puts in jail the first victim’.

It is being reported that Greg Dean was arrested for violating New York’s SAFE act for having nine bullets in his otherwise legal handgun. Mr. Dean was pulled over for some kind of minor traffic violation such as a light being out on the rear of his car when the New York state trooper noticed his handgun in the front seat. Even though the handgun was completely legal Mr. Dean was arrested and taken to jail for having nine bullets in the magazine instead of the legal amount of seven.

How do the people of New York put up with such insanity in their government?

New York’s unworkable SAFE Act claims another victim. New York state senator Greg Ball has the story on his website:

Brewster, N.Y. – (5/13/2013) – Senator Greg Ball (R,C,I-Patterson) Chairman of the Senate Veterans, Homeland Security and

Greg Dean New York SAFE Act

Military Affairs Committee issued the following statement in regards to the recent reports of a Dutchess County man being arrested for violating the “NY SAFE Act”.

Gregory D Dean Jr., 31, of Hopewell Junction, was pulled over on Sunday evening in New Lebanon because the vehicle’s license-plate lamp was not working. Troopers found Dean with a legally registered pistol with a magazine that contained nine bullets, two more than the recently passed “SAFE Act” allows. Police charged Dean with unlawful possession of certain ammunition feeding devices, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and other vehicle infractions.

“This is a very sad day for all fair minded New Yorkers who believe in justice and value freedom. Here we see the full effect of our actions as the SAFE Act turns a law abiding citizen into a criminal. This didn’t save a life, this just destroyed one man’s life,” said Senator Greg Ball. “I continue to plead with this Governor to please allow the common sense changes to this bill, that are obviously necessary.”

Gosh, who could have seen this coming?
